Welcome to my blog, The Lone
ly Star State!
A little about me and why I decided to start a blog: I just recently graduated from college in May with my BSN and moved from SC to TX. I alternate living with my Aunt and Uncle and my grandparents, they are the best roommates I’ve ever had. I work in a skilled nursing and acute rehab facility, and I love it! I can count the number of new friends I have made in Texas on one hand.
I love animals (seriously cannot wait to get a dog!). I randomly break out in dance, usually during my long runs to keep myself entertained. I love rainstorms (hint hint Tx sky), 90’s music, baking, and doing crossword puzzles. So obviously I’m the coolest person whose blog you’ll ever read, with the most happenin social life ever. 8)
Why start a blog? Because I feel like my life is moving at the speed of light right now. I left my parents and my bestest friends in SC. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision to move so far away, but although it is definitely lonely sometimes and I miss my parents, friends, and kitties lots, I needed to do this. Every day that I survive here makes me stronger. Being in a new place by myself has given me a lot of time to reflect on who I am and what I want. I have grown so much in the past 4 months- so much that I worry I will lose who I was or that my life will become so different that my friends and family back home will no longer know who I am. So I’m starting this blog for them to read, if they feel so inclined, to keep up with my life. I’m also hoping that perhaps some people in Texas will read my blog and wish to become my friend. 😉
The blogs I post are going to have no rhyme or reason to them. Common themes will probably be running, food, my residents, and awkward situations I encounter on a daily basis.
Yeah that’s me and my blog at a glance.
